Bismillāhi, tawakkaltu ‘alallāhi, wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh.
In the name of Allah, I put my trust in Allah, and there is no power nor strength except in Allah.
اللہ کے نام سے، میں نے اللہ پر بھروسہ کیا، اور اللہ کے سوا نہ کوئی طاقت ہے اور نہ کوئی قوت۔
“In the name of Allah, I put my trust in Allah, and there is no power nor strength except in Allah.” This beautiful dua teaches a Muslim to begin every journey or activity with Allah’s name, rely upon Him, and recognize that all strength and ability come from Him. 1. “In the name of Allah” It means that we begin our action with Allah’s name, seeking His help, blessing, and protection. It reminds us that whatever we do should be done in a way that pleases Allah. 2. “I put my trust in Allah” This means tawakkul—placing our sincere trust and dependence upon Allah. We take the necessary means and precautions, but our heart relies upon Allah for the outcome. 3. “There is no power nor strength except in Allah” This acknowledges that true power, ability, and strength belong to Allah alone. Whatever success, protection, or ability we have is ultimately granted by Him. 4. When leaving the house The dua is especially associated with leaving one's home. It expresses a believer’s trust in Allah before going out and seeking His protection throughout the journey. 5. A lesson of faith The dua teaches us three important qualities: Beginning with Allah — remembering Him before we act. Tawakkul — relying upon Allah while taking the proper means. Humility — recognizing that our strength and success come from Allah. In simple words: “O Allah, I begin with Your name, I depend on You, and I know that I can accomplish nothing without Your help and strength.”
